This week YouTube released its YouTube Ad Leaderboard in Pakistan: January to June 2018. This list is a reflection of the creative canvas that YouTube has provided these brands.

According to Farhan Qureshi, Regional Head at Google Asia Pacific, “These trending ads and branded content are a reminder of the amazing creativity alive today in the Pakistani ads industry. These videos show that it’s not only new technology, but also the ancient art of storytelling that creates a winning combination. YouTube offers brands a creative canvas to tell stories that resonate with consumers in whatever shape best fits them.”

Key Trends:

  • Made for Digital

YouTube allows brands as much or as little time as they need to tell their story so their creativity can flow as the narrative requires.

  • Popular with Millennials

Many of the ads are catered toward millennials, including those with strong female leads.

2. Peek Freans Cake Up | TVC 2018 | Real Rishtey

This Peek Freans ad attempts to tug at heartstrings by using familial bonds and the relationship between a mother and son to show ‘real fillings’.

Pepsi’s ad successfully sells its narrative while playing up the patriotic spirit in anticipation for this Independence Day.
